The Centre is committed to the safety and well being of each of the children in care, employees, Sub-contractors and visitors to the Centre.
To encourage and guide children into healthy lifestyles and ensure they are all nourished to enable learning.

Continuing education for educators and parents/whanau regarding healthy choices for lunchbox contents.
Promotion of healthy lunchbox contents.
Positive encouragement for foods that enhance health.
Provision of healthy lunch orders.
Staff will ensure that healthy lunchbox contents are consumed before any packaged food.
The Centre will discourage ‘treat foods’ which will be clearly identified for parents’ information.
Foods prohibited for consumption are whole nuts (Early Learners side), rollups, strings, nuggets,gum, candy bars, sweets, chocolate bars.
Only milk and water are accepted in the Centre. All other drinks including flavoured milk are prohibited.
Parents/whanau are aware that only water is allowed in drink bottles which are bought into the Centre.
Treat foods will be accepted for celebrations and special occasions previously arranged with the kitchen manager.
The Centre will provide healthy morning and afternoon teas – this will include fruit, vegetables and home baking. (In accordance with the National Heart Foundation)
All meals provided will be recorded and available for parents to view on request.
The Centre regularly consults with a dental therapist for oral health advice.
